Goal: Circles

My goal yesterday was to scrap something with circles.

Circles scare me.

So instead of using my circle punch

I used buttons and doilies--they count, right?

They are rather circular...

I loved using the FF exclusive Handmade Modern Stitched tag.

have you scrapped anything with circles lately?

a subtle embellishment

there's a lot of hype about how to use washi tape as you main embellishment

but somtimes its nice to just use it as a subtle accent

Anna-Maria snuck in some gold airmail washi tape

on each of these layouts.

its nice to have add a little something to a project

and washi tape if perfect for that.

because i love the grid sketch so much.

then ran it through her cameo

recent layouts

i mentioned on facebook that i did a couple layouts in less than 30 minutes.

i was on a rolll!

for the bulk of my layouts i use Studio Calico kits.

i love how everything is already coordinated and put together for me.

with the kits as my foundation i start adding in stuff from my stash.

the lovely melissa recently made a card

using some Brooklyn doilies

and the granny chic washi tape

isn't just the most perfect card?

it feels very much like summer to me.

Every Day by Doe

i love this layout

the colors make me happy

and with two little boys

its not very often that i do a page ALL girly and such

and since doilies and lace are some of my favorite things to use

scrapping Little Lady is always a joy for me :)

i used the pink airmail (such a delight)

french 4 inch doilies

i also used the two-toned lace tape in yellow.

lace tapes are so lovely to use

you just peel off the back and bam, beautiful lace on a layout

no fuss with gluesticks, glue dots, etc.

and on the left there

i used some red/white striped fabric tape that we'll be stocking late this month.

i just love it.

Deer and I have been lazing about with the babies

building with blocks and having little dinosaur fights 

(Little Lady is currently obsessed with all things dinosaurs

and her two dinosaur stuffed animals have been quite ferocious as of late)

on May 11 Deer and i celebrated our 5 year anniversary.

sooo much has happened in 5 years.

we both finished college

we had 3 babies (yes, 3)

we bought a car

we purchased a home

we adopted a lovely Rescued Dog

lots of perfection

lots of sacrifice

lots of love.

i used the white heart washi tape

red adhesive labels

red grid washi tape

and a heart flair in the soon-to-come June ohDEERme kit.

did i mention before how much i love stapling things on my layouts?

the stapler and i have a little love affair.

this layout is ever dear (or deer, i should say) to my heart

it captures such a tender subject.

Little Lady became a big sister Aug 2 2010.

then, a year later on Aug 26, she became a big sister again!

just looking at her sweet face and how much she grew in that 1 year

and thinking about all the things she has done to help with the boys

how she teaches them, feeds them, reads books to them, plays with them

Did she Know how amazing she would be?

how simply perfect she could be?

from the shop i used

this was the first time i used the brown grid washi
and holy cow, i realllly like it!

for journaling, i snuck a library card pocket behind the top picture

i wrote my thoughts on large kraft tags

and i will slip them in there.

i adore library card pockets

should i stock them in the shop?? :)

Pick up Sticks, by Doe.

we were out playing in the backyard

and i saw Little Man over by the berry bushes

walking towards me.

i snapped a couple photos as he approached me

but it wasn't until he was close that i realized

he had a stick in his mouth.

i laughed. and laughed.

i used some doilies and mini tags

and down the left side i used 

basic green stripe washi tape

and grey airmail.

i like using wallet-sized photos for the layouts where i want to include lots of pictures.
its an easy way to fit everything in.

Lovelies - a layout by Doe.

i created this layout to document

Little Lady's and my routine at night.

the picture was taken a year ago

back when we lived in our Highly-Perched Nest (apartment on 3rd floor).

we used to walk to the mailbox together

and she would pick a flower or leaf along the way

i will always adore this picture.

and i will always adore this Little Lady.

scrapbooking for me

is a wonderful way to document

all those little moment i dont ever want to forget.

i used mustard stripe washi (my fav) and grey stripe washi and cathedral doilies

oh and do you notice the watermark to the left of the alpha title?

that's Little Man's drool.

lovely above all colors in my opinion.

Their Story

i got some scrapping done this weekend

(weeeee!)

its a pretty rare occurrence for me to actually sit down

and make a couple layouts

what with the littles running around.

Little Lady looooves using my stickers

and Little Man tries to put everything in his mouth.

so scrapping does not usually happen until after they are all in bed.

i used a lot from Studio Calico's Apri Kit

and a lot of FF supplies

we just added the descending stripe washi tape to the shop

and using it here on this layout was sooo ... what's the word ... perfect!

i love it.

so much.

it may in fact be my most favorite washi tape ever.

yellow washi tape is rare and i just love stripes. 

i also used the basic stripe grey tape

and the 4 inch french doilies.

 for a little extra journaling

i wrote on some of the decorative tags

another personal favorite.

i love those wood frames.

i need to get more :)

the sunshine is calling me away.

off to play in the backyard with the littles.

how was the week for everyone?

ours was buuuuusy!

Deer and i were busy with the shop

and the littles were busy outside.

we bought Little Man one of those scoot bikes

on a roll

i was on a roll last night.

Deer and i were both in the office

all the babies asleep

how you say i love you

here's what i created from the friday challenge

when i was inspired by the colors from the swimming suit

i knew i wanted to do a layout of Little Lady

i used the Cathedral Square paper doilies from the shop

it was my first time using square doilies on a layout.

sigh.

it was perfect.

i have always been a lover of doilies

but i do believe square doilies are now my favorite

sorry circles!

i also used the Adhesive Labels (yellow)

labels are always so perfect when you want your journaling

to stand out a little.

this layout is going on the fridge for awhile, i'm thinking.

i just loved everything about this friday challenge.
