Veteran's Day 2012

"In war, there are no unwounded soldiers." -Jose Narosky

Hiya all! Doe gave me permission to get a little personal with you all today! Some of you know that my husband Jonathan has been deployed since January of this year. Each and every day I am so proud of him and all he is doing for our country, but yesterday and today I have been even more focused on this.  Thinking about the things he has endured over the past 297 days, and will continue to endure over the next 20 days, (who's counting though right?) as I sit here in my nice comfy home with our two beautiful daughters. It really just leaves me speechless.

"Freedom is never free." -Author Unknown

For those of you that are Vets yourselves, have a husband, a father, a son, a daughter, a wife, a mother, a friend.. etc. etc etc Thank you. Thank them! They are often unseen, and unheard in our community. Today is the day to see them. Today is the day to hear them. And today is the day to thank them!

"This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave." -Elmer Davis

  1. Your first quote is so solemn. And probably true. And those of us not in the military family should keep this in mind. Thanks for sharing.
Sending hugs your way as your countdown continues :)

  3. Thank you for sharing your husband for our freedom! 20 days!! How exciting!! Is this the first year he's been gone, or have you done this before? My husband was gone more the first 3 years of the war than he was home. I was blessed that our son was grown. Most people don't even think about what the families go through at home with their helpmate. You didn't know you signed up for the military too, huh?? God bless, and I'll be praying for safe passage for your husband.

    1. Hiya Terry! This is the longest he has been gone. He was special forces before so they were usually gone 6-8 weeks etc. We are super excited to have him home!!! :)
